Sea Gypsy, you are so welcome!  If it wasn't for Roy I wouldn't know about them either.  They are very good!

Re:

FSI, I'm glad you were with your family for Thanksgiving. I hope you had a pumpkin pie with whipped cream.

We did not have too many leftovers. My dad took care of all that.

Re:

Sea Gypsy, Angel wings are sweet crisp pastry made out of dough that has been shaped into thin twisted ribbons, deep-fried, and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Roy grew up eating these.  His Mom always had them in the house.  I never knew what they were.  We never had angel wings growing up.  They are very good though. Thank you so much for your comment.

Re: Looking forward to reading your Santa story. You couldn't pay me to

Pat, I've never been able to handle the crowds on Black Friday.  When the kids were young I always worked the day after Thanksgiving.  Roy wants to get the sale price so he's willing to go early in the morning. Thank you so much for the comment.

Re:

BC-A, my family loves the leftovers.  I think it's the highlight of the holiday.

Re: That was sweet of your grandson.

Sassy, if you could have seen all the fruit in the salad you would have been amazed and he cut each piece up perfectly.  Faye said that he went and bought every fruit he could find. I was so impressed with how much effort he put into the fruit salad. John will love the ham slices with fried potatoes and onions.  I wish I had some because it sounds delicious!  Thank you so much for your comment.

Re:

Kabu, I think you are right and Santa will be traveling far and wide on Christmas eve.

That was sweet of your grandson.

Fruit salad is the best. I once made a fruit tray with strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew, and a few others for a party. Fruit is not cheap, especially when you need a lot of it. We have leftover ham, so I am making John spicy-sweet ham slices with fried potatoes & onions before he gets to his "honey-do" list.

What are Angel Wings, if you don't mind me asking? I don't shop on the day after Thanksgiving either but this year especially so. I'm glad you had a good Thanksgiving. Everythings sounds wonderful and it always nice to have the leftovers.

Looking forward to reading your Santa story. You couldn't pay me to

shop on black Friday - mob scenes and now this year all the hostility over masks... No thank you. But good on Roy for braving the madding crowd and reaching his goal.
