Such a fun time. It reminds me of my school dances from long ago.

Those are the great memories that remain with us for a lifetime.

It was a different era, one that seems so long ago due to all the changes that have occurred in the ensuing decades.

Re: Dancing the night away Godiec...yes fun times and innocent fun times as

well. Good girls remained virgins out of terror of facing their parents. LOL. There was competition amongst the girls as well, I expect. Not sure because I never really got into that sort of thing with my friends.

Dancing the night away

Kabu, thanks for sharing such delightful memories.  I've never experienced anything like this but it sounds so exciting to me.  As I read your post I felt like I was at the dance.  My friends and I would be checking out all the boys and whispering about which one we liked the best. There'd be plenty of giggles and secrets to share when the night came to an end.  Awesome post.

Reminds me of the dances we used to attend at one Fireman's hall

or another in towns near Salkum, or the Grange Hall on Saturday nights. The men and women were exactly as you describe: farmers and loggers and their wives tending to the hosting duties, a local band. And I could almost see those youngsters, finding their way in that situation. Thank you for the memories.

I really loved this but I think you were only an observer. You got it to a tee.

Just as I remember it. Thank you for the memory.
