Annicita,  I love Baldacci and John Grisham. They are such wonderful authors! Evanovich is my absolute favorite!

Re:

Sea Gypsy, I like to plan ahead for dinner.  I don't like the 4 pm rush either!

You have a great day. It's so nice to have dinner planned ahead of time. I rather don't like that 4 pm rush to get a dinner ready.

Ciel,

My English SIL has requested that I make it at Christmas for years. Apparently his late mother did so. It seems daunting to me, maybe because it is new to me.

Re: Re: Goldiec,

Yorkshire pudding is traditionally cooked in the hot drippings from the roast. It is basically a savory popover with a greasy bottom, and I really liked it the way she made it. Now I have had it in England, I still preferred hers.

Re:

C_C_T, I have it written and it's just a matter of proofreading it and posting it. Molly is such an adorable character.  Thank you so much for your comment.

Re:

Ciel, I wish I could have known your Mom!  I've never tried roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.  Is it good?  Thank you so much for the comment I found it amazing!

My mom watched James Beard's and Julia Child's cooking shows. She was a gourmet cook herself, and had literally hundreds of cookbooks! When she wanted to make a dish, she would look it up in several of those books, then close them all, and make it. We sometimes had 6 weeks of Sunday dinners all the same dish as she perfected it. I remember 6 weeks of paellas, and the 6 of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. I learned a lot just watching her cook!

I do find reading much more relaxing than telivision. How is the second episode of the Collie progressing?

Re: I have a stack of James Patterson hardcover novels.

Sassy, thanks so much for the comment.  I have never made spicy-sweet ham steak but it does sound good. I just looked out the window and it looks like the rain is going to start again.  Is Nora Roberts a good romance author?  I favor mysteries but my favorite author of all time is Janet Evanovich.

Re:

FSI, thanks so much for the comment.  I do have a lot of Patterson novels.  He's such a good writer.

I have a stack of James Patterson hardcover novels.

I will eventually get to those novels. My miniature library continues to get stocked, so it is hard to read everything. I have been reading our fellow blogger's books along with a Nora Roberts romance. Pat_B wrote Bloody Hell And A Slice Of Pie, and Kabu wrote Tom Ugly. That chicken pot pie will be yummy! We are having spicy-sweet ham steak and scalloped potatoes today. I use honey, brown sugar, ground cloves, dry mustard, and cayenne pepper. It is fairly warm outside here today even though it isn't very sunny.

Can't go wrong with a Patterson novel, and there are hundreds to choose from.

Re: Reading. Great idea. A vacation without having to check in at the airport.

Pat, thank you so much for the comment. When you mentioned the airport it reminded me of a news segment I saw this morning.  It said that unless you wear a mask you are no longer able to fly.  I do enjoy my quiet time.  Reading is so peaceful to me.
