Re: Re: Re: Goldiec,

If I ever get back that way, perhaps we could meet up. I've been wanting to get back to visit for a while, but clearly that isn't happening any time soon.

Re: Re: Goldiec,

Ciel, we are about 12 miles from Cleveland in an Eastern suburb.  We do have a large yard.  I'm not that familiar with Cleveland Heights though.  Our house is a ranch.

Re: Goldiec,

Yes, I am with you on that first-snow elation! What part of Cleveland do you call home? I always loved the great big houses and huge yards of Cleveland Heights--remains of when it was a city of wealth and high society. I don't know if I would have cared much for the society, but they left some lovely houses!

Re: Pat,

I'm hearing that the copious snows have had a dampening effect on the Colorado fires, and there are hopes that though the fires are not controlled by it, the firefighter at least have had some help in that direction. It might be enough to make a real difference in coming days.

Re: Annicita,

I see that, too, and wonder at people' selective hearing about what works and what doesn't.

Re: Kabu,

It is, as the Queen's Latin expressed it a few years ago, an annus horribilus. My hopes are great, though, that Election Day will redeem some part of it.

Re: CCT,

So far, vaccines are still only in development. I also look forward to when they are available for everyone, and working!

Re: sassyass,

There was a winter I flew from Seattle to Phoenix for a long weekend... Blissfully warm there!

Winter is definitely coming but not quite yet in Cleveland.  It will be here soon though.  I think I may be in a small category of people that love the first snow.  I think it's beautiful.  We have a lot of trees in the yard and when the snow covers the trees and the branches it's really a sight to see. I still remember making snow angels in the snow and building forts to play in with my friends.  My children did the same thing when they were little.  I am a freeze baby though and like to view the snow from inside the house.  When the kids are here and the fireplace is on I will make hot chocolate for everyone.  I love it!

I was eager to see snow (or rain) falling in your area, what with all the

fires in the beautiful parks and other areas. Don't like it when it gets really cold and damp, but I guess that's what wool sweaters and fireplaces are for.  Hot chocolate, too.

I merchandise in grocery stores. I see more and more people wearing their masks below their nose. Sigh.

With Winter on the way, this is definitely no time to let up and to socialize, so wear the mask and keep at a distance. This year is the worst one just about ever for me.

Yes one must not think its over. It is building up again. Hopefully vaccines are proving helpful.

Wow! We all obviously have varied weather conditions.

We are still taking in the Autumn views with the many vibrant colored leaves. I hope that the snow waits to appear in our area until late November. It is those cold days that I miss living in Virginia Beach or back in California where we dealt with none of those winter issues. A warm home is comforting though, especially with yummy aromas wafting from the oven.
