It seemed unusual but perhaps Deonte's attitude was just a bit off. Detention for looking at the teach's desk? And now in some places the kids have guns half the time... Sad.

Yikes, this is hard for me because there's a part of me that feels that just maybe the teacher could have called the student over to the side and spoke with him and then let it go. I do understand the other side though. I'm always looking for a happy ending. I do think that once the teacher gives detention the school should back him up. Great post.

Your story reminded me of the Breakfast Club and the war between rebel, Judd Nelson aka John Bender, and the assistant principal, Paul Gleason aka Mr. Vernon.
