Re: Lol, I cannot even imagine how tiny that sliver was.

Sassy!  I'm not sure how to even explain it but it was definitely a sliver and I never said a word!

Re:

Kabu, I just know it's beautiful where you live during the winter months.  I love freshly fallen snow!  I have always thought the first snowfall is exciting. I must say not everybody feels like I do but I've almost always lived in the north where there's snow during the winter months.  I know nothing about Australia.  Is it really hot there?

Re: Re: I love the hot sauce - your chili sounds like delicious waiting to happen.

Sassy, thanks so much for the comment.please share your recipe for hamburger soup because I've never made it.  When I was making my chili I couldn't help but think of John and his ghosts peppers.  We have our ghost pepper plant but I just couldn't put one in my chili I was afraid it would be too hot. I did add the red pepper flakes.

Re:

Thank you so much for the comment. Your Johnny cake sounds so delicious! Maple syrup is one of my favorite toppings! My chili is making the house smell so good!  I do have the ingredients to make corn bread.  I should have made some to go with my chili.

I am with Pat_B. I love hot sauce, but it doesn't like me. That chili sounds delicious though. I am going to have to make a batch for John here soon. He requested his favorite hamburger soup.

To answer a couple of your questions dear, yes we get really big heavy snowfalls most winters. 3 feet a fall is quite normal. Then when the temperature drops somwhwew below freezing say -35 C the ground and the snow freezes hard and most new snow sits on top. Some blows into drifts but it is really cold. I love it having grown up and lived most of my life in Australia. We have central heating of course to stay warm.

Yum! Chili and cornbread! I made the chili a couple of weeks ago for my gang but was really disappointed that not one store had cornmeal to make the bread! After searching all over, I finally ordered it from Amazon. It was too late to enjoy with the chili this time, but now a warm Johnny Cake with butter and Maple syrup will make up for that!

Re: I love the hot sauce - your chili sounds like delicious waiting to happen.

Pat_B, thank you so much for the comment.  I've missed so much with everyone because I've arrived late at Blogit.  I did not know that you had radiation therapy but I hope it helped you.  The chili will be ready for dinner time and I think everyone will like it.  There was no way I was putting a ghost pepper in my chili.  I just wouldn't be able to eat it.  They are so hot.

The thing is, the hot sauce doesn't like me - haven't been able to eat it since I had radiation therapy a dozen years ago. I hope your fairies enjoy the pie.
