Well when we were boys there was no hair cream so lads used Vaseline and water.
It was fun to watch a sleek hairstyle slowly disintegrate as the hairs lifted in sections.

I have seen girls playing with their hair continuously.
I fix my hair in the morning, tend to it later in the day, and pull it up when I am cooking. Other than that, I am not a fan of playing with hair, especially around food.

Depends on the person - entirely! A girl might complain to her mom or dad about her hair just like you’ve written. Some people couldn’t care less and others are obsessional about it.
