Re: Desperate times for some - and there are always "vultures" around
Pat_B, these really are desperate times and I'm hoping things get better for everyone but I'm just afraid of what is to come next year. We can only wait and see what 2021 will bring.

Desperate times for some - and there are always "vultures" around
who have no trouble taking advantage of another's misfortune. Hard adjustment for those who've been able to take care of themselves all along.

Re:
Sea Gypsy, thank you so much for the comment. It is truly a sad story and it's happening everywhere. By all means, share it with your family. Your grandsons sound like wonderful people. There are so many different ways that the homeless need help. Some have mental health issues and drug addictions and the list goes on and on.

That's quite a sad story. I think I'll share it with my daughters if you don't mind. My grandsons were doing in-service work for their church and were working with the homeless a few years ago. Giving them sandwiches at lunch and things. It is a culture here in some spots where people need multiple disciplines of aid and first many of them need mental health services. Then there are those others who really just need a hand. And there are always those who work the system, but we won't go there in this. Let's hope for better times.

Re: We feel the exact same way.
Sassy, most likely you are right. The cost would be too much. I've heard about tent cities and my heart goes out to all the people that live in them. People have their families there. I just don't know what to think. I have heard that in New York people stay at the end of the bridges. Winter is coming and I'm not sure how they can stay there. Roy said when he goes to work he sees different people standing on the side of the road holding signs for money. He said he thinks there's a homeless shelter of some kind around where he works.

We feel the exact same way.
There are so many people who are desperate to have a home and a family. Not everyone is so lucky. You see tents set up around big cities. It is sad. As long as I am alive my kids will always have a place to go. I too have always wondered why they do not do something for the homeless people where abandoned homes are concerned. My guess is because it would cost too much.
