Thankfully, most ghosts do leave when asked. They usually hang around for a reason, at least thisd has been our experience with them. Some tend to be a bit scrier than others, especially the ones that lurk around kids and babies.

We had a ghost in the house where I raised the kids. For a time we
rented the upstairs as a separate apartment, but eventually converted it to bedrooms as the kids became teenagers and needed more room in their rooms. I used to hear doors shutting & furniture being moved when nobody was home. No problem. At one time a cloud of light hovered mysteriously over the baby's crib and woke me up. I told it to get the hell out of my house and it went.
