Re: C_C_T
I'm not a person who gives up easily. It's just my equilibrium and nausea on moving around I have to conquer. I'm strong enough for an old lady.

Re: Corbin_Dallas
Very Interesting. I like walking around early in the morning at my favorite HyVee pushing a cart and picking up a few interesting items. Son gets big stuff and heavy items for me as I have trouble getting heavy stuff up the eight stairs to my door. I'm afraid that the older I get, the less I care for electronic stuff. Old people have old ways. At least this old person. LOL

I go to Sams Club every other day and walk every aisle. I wear a "Fitbit" electronic bracelet and all of my data is loaded into my laptop when I get home. Even better if you have a group of friends and they have Fitbits, you then have more of a competitive spirit.....

I do hope you will find some helpful way of moving around. It is a problem as one grows older. Of course all the restrictions do not help. I have a peddling apparatus, I must try and use it when on blogit.

I'm curious as to where this will go. Doctors do tell us to do a lot of things when we cannot do them...

My mom did that. She refused to exercise at all - not even as much as you did. Good that at least you are doing chair exercises. I hope you find the inspiration to take a few steps further each day.

Getting out and walking is a big deal, if one can do it.
I used to be an avid walker, but this past year I have not due to a variety of reasons. I have to agree with what Pat said. It seems that having problems with balance could be helped by having something to hold onto that has wheels. The bonus is that you can carry a picnic, books, and other essentials in the cart. Good luck to you.

Re: Afib and managing it are more difficult when the joints aren't as fluid
What a good idea. In a grocery store I have no problem while I am pushing the cart.

Afib and managing it are more difficult when the joints aren't as fluid
as they used to be and the sense of balance has slipped a bit. Makes it feel chancy to be outdoors and walking - I've thought of buying a shopping cart - not one of the big full-sized ones - but one that could fold and fit in the trunk of the car. I find I can get around more easily with the confidence they give me & don't see any reason I couldn't use one on most walking trails.
