Re:

At the risk of being lynched I have to admit I always found her overrated with a terrible voice. When it comes to hoarse, raspy voices, Bonnie Tyler is way better.

She was definitely underrated, and she hardly had time to redeem herself.

Being a part of the 27 club cut her life short before she could really shine.

When Faith Hill sang her version I remember that people were not happy.

The song was originally sang by Erma Franklin, but it was made famous by Janice Joplin. All were great versions, but when Faith claimed that she had never heard the song, that kind of made people wonder about her credibility. Sometimes redo's are the bomb, sometimes they are an epic failure. Reba redoing the song, "Fancy" was something to behold. She knocked it out of the park when you compare it to the original.

She definitely caught my attention.  She is one of the musicians that Ribcage and I enjoyed together.
