Re: I meant to say goose. I have never tried wild game.

Well A lady told me they always had A goose for Xmas dinner .the fat was saved and rubbed on the children's back I assume. She said they never took their vests off all through the Winter.

Re: I can remember days where a fat goose (or chicken) would be

Yes Pat, it was fatal though to name a potential dinner, I remember as kids we sighed. 'We are eaten poor old Joe.' Dad said it spoiled his Christmas dinner.

Your poem strikes me from how my sister would take it. She loves pigs and is fearful of geese.

I can remember days where a fat goose (or chicken) would be

enjoying breakfast in the morning and become supper by end of the day.  Well told.

It’s very vividly told and realistic for the time. Thank you.

I meant to say goose. I have never tried wild game.

It doesn't sound very appetizing even though I know that many people prepare them for Christmas dinner.

That poor goode. His destiny is that of a pillow and dinner.
