Yeah, you're right, but it's just so tricky (familial anything). Also, Haiku can have so many meanings-- what is obvious and what can be intrepreted... that's why Haiku is so cool. When you are forced to into condensation... you can pack a lot into a little

In that context it takes on a whole new meaning. Don't be scared to ask questions and explore your past and your family's past. So what if they don't like it. You have a right to look into it if you want to--in my opinion.

not literal wind and sun... the ups and downs of life --- mine in general
not literal roots... familial... my family never talks about the past
and I am the product of an extramarital affair that no one talks about...
