The problem...
isn't the individual politicians so much as the system. It's virtually impossible to get elected without donations from special interests. The candidates who truly want to do what's best for the country don't get donations and are ignored by the media so they can't get their message across.

Don't despair...
All politicians are not alike and I don't care who says differently. The truth is that most people put no more time into selecting political leaders than they do choosing a frozen dinner at the supermarket. The result is the mess that we have in Washington and the incompetents and misfits we have in office such as Bush & Cheney and many in the Congress.
If you are going to take your citizenship seriously then you have to investigate who is running and how true their statements are. I have a blog on books that I believe every American citizen should read. Check it out for a start. Make up your own list as you go along. Just remember that choosing good representatives for government is not something to be done off the top of your head. It's to be done using your head.

I am so bitter about politics...and it started with the impeachment of Nixon....I think all politicians are liars and thieves and don not hold the best interest of their constituents at heart. Regaurdless of pary afilliation. it doesn't matter. We have no honest government representatives! It's the same world wide...am I getting paranoid?
