Re: CCT,

I  also never use poison. A snap-trap usually gets the job done and sends the little beast's soul onto its next life quicker! Unlike, say a cat. The miss-snap does happen, but I haven't seen it too often. But the basket is a useful idea!

We had many critters back when the kids were small, but I drew the line at tarantulas and large insects. Sooner or later, any pet will escape. I don't mind hunting down tame rats, but nonono big hairy spiders!

Re: Kabu,

I am so glad not to have to do it alone!

Re: sassyass,

In all the clearing out yesterday I saw not one mouse, so that's good--but snap-traps will be in place later today. The clorox smell has dissipated, now the closet will smell of peanut butter.

Re: Pat,

Yeah, I've been reading up on that. But I think the last mouse departed some time ago, and letting the closet alone for a while allowed the danger of bacteria also to disperse. So I think we're okay as far as that goes.

Squeak squeak. I like traps not poison it is quicker but I always cover the trap with a basket as if a mouse is caught say by the tail it will  drag the trap away and it of course needs putting out of its misery.Once my young brother had to keep some white mice for a friend and several escaped they were the easiest to catch after making whoopee with the wild ones.

Yes, sending vibes of sympathy to you! Goodness! Hope you get that creature(s) to go away. Can you tell your landlord to send someone out to take care of the problem? I remember my mother being terrified of mice. In my early 20s I caught one in her kitchen, cornered it, and - well, it had to say goodbye that day! She was grateful, but shaking, poor, dear lady!

I am sorry. A yucky job indeed.

Uh oh...I can relate. I have multiple bird feeders which attract more then birds. We had a mice issue for one week. My hubby put out d-CON traps, and voila...no more mice. Good luck.

sympathetic vibes for you - not the mice.

Wouldn't mind them if they weren't carriers of such evil germs.
