Hi Pat I guess one has to go with the flow. I think the Dahlias are OK we have not taken them up and stored them this time. Just heaped compost over each plant, the
corms were getting to big to handle. Also I did not anticipate a harsh Winter.

Of course most houses are brick built now .The occasional stone built quite more expensive.Yes we pay for water on a meter, so it pays to conserve the rain water.

Your description of your home turf is lovely. Stone homes and bungalow's sound very charming as does the water barrel. I cannot live without mine. Even though it rains in Pennsylvania more so than not, I like having the rain water for my tomato and pepper plants.
