I have found the birds a bit choosy,I suppose there is still tidbits around, they are always more eager when new chicks are born.

Inventive idea. We have bird feeders in different parts of our yard. We went on vacation for a few days...the food ran out, and when we got back...no birds. It took several days of full feeders to get their attention again.

Often it takes the birdies a bit of time to feel comfortable about getting started feeding at a new place. But, once they do, they keep coming and expecting replenishment.
