I never wanted to shoot any creatures, or participate in the butchering.

Lived for a year on the farm, watched the butchering of a hog in fall - they smoked the hams, made sausage, shared the meat with their sons' family - nothing was wasted. My mom used to kill and clean chickens, which I realize now was a very healthy practice - organically grown and not processed on an assembly line. I have a son who hunts with a bow & arrow - he is not a trophy hunter, but used the meat. I don't think it's morally wrong in any way, hunting is a survival habit from ancient times, but there are lots more people living in cities now, with little idea about the natural world.

a good post and I understand what you are saying. I grew up in the country on a farm...One clean shot through the eye is not so bad, what I am really against is killing endangered species destroying the natural order that nature keeps if we humans stp away. it is good news to see the wolves being introduced because they are part of the natural order.

What I really cannot abide is some idiot with a bow and arrow and they hit the poor creature in the gut and then follow the trail of blood. That is cruel and unneccesary. Firsy nations people did or still do their best to kill quickly and cleanly and then use all parts of the kill, wasting nothing.
