He came out as a Goth, and now tends bar in a club. No, I don't know...
One of the most aggressive, assertive, loud and downright often obnoxious people I ever worked with told a story about how she had been shy in her youth and could never assert herself. One of her college classes focused exercises on assertiveness, and she said once she 'learned' how to be that way, she stayed that way. Often overboard, I might add.
