Well no nasty smells around the area I live in...the street quite green and quiet...a blessing if you live in a big city.

Living out in the country, we have really good smells.  I don't have any cattle farms nearby.

In india, you’ll find places with roadside Thelas (small shops on wheels) that serve delicious chaat and pakoras. The ones that are best are situated near the nalas, the smelly waters flowing underneath. Can’t say why or how!!!

Not out here in my bush, but when I go into the city to work, there are often weird smells and, you're right, often it's like metal burning or heating.

I live near a seafood restaurant. If the wind blows a certain way, I get a whiff of crabs. Outside of that, nothing strange.

Re: Pat

I guess we don't really want to get too close to the morning breakfast. Never mind we shall be crunching insects soon.

Re: RPresta

Yes I think once one takes a dislike to a smell it probably seems more unfavourable.

I like it hot/

Not now. The worst odor was a place near where I once worked far away. Across the street a truck brought in live chickens to be slaughtered for the local Chinese restaurants. The smell of the burning feathers was unearthy; something only Dante might imagine.

I like apple crumble.

I can't, at the moment, think of any wierd smells, but there are now and then wierd noises that I can't place and have to ask Ribcage, "What's that sound I hear?"

A hog farm along a country road has an odor you can't escape,

it stays in the car when you're a mile away, almost worse than driving by the body of a roadkill skunk. It's better to think of the heavenly scent of frying bacon....
