Re: Re: TAPS,

I loved world history in high school because I had a wonderful teacher.  She was a grouchy old spinster that kept a Bible on her desk and always had a frown on her face, but she made World History come alive to me.   I had football coach for an American History coach and I hated the class.  All he did was assign homework and tell stories of his football coaching through the years.  I learned to love American History from reading on my own after high school.

Re: adnohr,

Yes!  Accounting brings in practical math, things like managing a checking account, and other money issues. And everyone should know how to cook!  Lesson one, turn the heat down...

Re: RPresta,

Yep, I'd focus on English Composition and creative writing. But I still don't remember the names of all the English language parts. I know the basics, and can tell a participle when it dangles, but some of the other terms have never sunk in!

Re: TAPS,

I have been watching some pretty amazing historical documentaries--thinking what a great thing it would be to present these to students of high school level who are going to soak up information, maybe even be excited about it enough to think about it, discuss and write essays... And these cover ground not covered in school, like how the West was really won.
