Same thing here with swallows hardly ever see one or swifts. Must be something to do with the environment.

I've seen a fairly large number of geese flying over as I wander the various inland lakes here in the UP. A few of them are even stopping to rest on the more remote lakes.

We've had a fair amount of geese in Maryland. They are neat creatures. Hopefully, you will start to see more again.

I haven't noticed any of the big V formations this spring, either, but
I haven't been outside as much as usual - partly due to weather. My energy runs out so much faster than it used to. As for the hummingbirds hitching a ride amongst the feathers of Canada geese - wouldn't surprise me. Those little buzz bombs are smart.

We have some Egyptian geese here and probably Canadian geese also. They are fun to watch.

They are not scarce. They are all here on an around all of the little lakes and green parks. They have forgotten what the name "Canada geese" means. Their honking "V's" fly low over our place all day over and over, but they only fly from one lake to another. They never leave our city any more.

Really....I wish they had to have a passport. The same geese come back every year....I've had them dive bomb me because I was mowing close to where mama was sitting on the nest and Poppa attacks me from behind. They crap all over the yards. I can't kill them...but A BB Gun give a small amount of satisfaction.
