He is always flapping on about things he knows nothing about, has misunderstood or not listened to what he has been told.

Thank you for speaking truth despite power!

And no one is pro-death. The contention is not pro-life vs pro-death, it is pro-choice vs anti-choice. And choice is a complex matter involving many elements which only the woman, her family, and her doctor are fully aware of. If the concern is about a woman's relationship with God, that, too, is no one else's business.

Kabu & Friends:

I just saw the president's quote again - and it reminded me of a response here re: West Virginia's proposed change to the state's abortion law. The W. Virginia situation was not the topic of this post. The topic was an opinion given by the president at his latest political rally.

Kabu,I have to respond...

I'm sorry but what in the world are you talking about,  I watched the rally and didn't hear any reference to Premature births.

I did hear his reference to States, Virginia in particular,  now allowing late-term abortions to the extreme...

Virginia Bill Would Legalize Abortion Up to Birth - "National Review"

Democratic delegate Kathy Tran has introduced a bill in Virginia’s House of Delegates that would legalize abortion up to birth. When questioned about the bill on Monday by Republican Delegate Todd Gilbert, the Virginia House majority leader, Tran acknowledged that it would allow abortion even at the very end of pregnancy when a woman was going into labor.

The bill is called the Repeal Act because it would remove all existing restrictions on abortion in Virginia.

That includes permitting abortion in the last three months of pregnancy, eliminating informed-consent and clinic-safety requirements, permitting late-term abortions to be performed in outpatient clinics, and removing pro-life initiatives such as ultrasound requirements and the state’s 24-hour waiting period. It has the backing of Virginia’s Democratic governor Ralph Northam.

Here’s part of their back-and-forth during questioning:

Gilbert: So how late in the third trimester could a physician perform an abortion if he indicated it would impair the mental health of the woman?

Tran: Or physical health.

Gilbert: Okay. I’m talking about mental health.

Tran: I mean, through the third trimester. The third trimester goes all the way up to 40 weeks.

Gilbert: So to the end of the third trimester?

Tran: Yes. I don’t think we have a limit in the bill.

Gilbert: So where it’s obvious that a woman is about to give birth, she has physical signs that she’s about give birth, would that still be a point at which she could still request an abortion if she was so certified? [pause] She’s dilating?

Tran: Mr. Chairman, you know, that would be a decision that the doctor, the physician, and the woman would make.

Gilbert: I understand that. I’m asking if your bill allows that.

Tran: My bill would allow that, yes.

Is this what you are referring to?

Thank you for this post.  My Florida Son's second child was one of those you speak of.  From the time of her birth she lived for two hours and Preacher sat at his wife's bedside and cuddled Kristin for the whole two hours.  It was a terribly sad and beautifully touching two hour experience.

thank you dearest friend. You are always soup for my soul.

and erroneous information because they are ignorant of the subject and too lazy to do any fact checking - those who hear it are entitled (perhaps obligated) to correct the facts. My granddaughter was a neonatal nurse, as you described your own experience - and it's a job guaranteed to break your heart at least once a day because of all the hopeless cases that come into that care group.
