I really think that the months have shifted . Once the familiar warning along now was cover your tender plants night frost is imminent . I hope I don't speak too soon.

Poor little doves, I did see a young blackbird looking miserable ,but his mother brought a little morsel. Of course it is the lighting stimulating the pituitary gland. I like full cream milk in my tea,no sugar.

Re: RPresta,

If my guests were anyone but Charlie, the cucumbers and the cress would be classically excellent!

Re: Pat,

Glad you could join us in spirit... I know someone who bakes gluten free really amazingly well. I might be able to get a scone recipe for you from her.  I know some gluten-free stuff is not actually edible, but hers is amazing!

Hi tea is such fun. I do enjoy it. I even like cucumber and cream cheese finger sandwiches with watercress or green goddess dressing. Everyrhing sounded to lovely.

Awww... sorry about the baby doves.

I learned about scones when I worked for SCCC in Seattle - they had a culinary arts school and sold baked goods in a little shop that was part of their training. They made spectacular blueberry scones, and for a brief joyful month or so I was under the impression that they were low-calorie versions of donuts and I could enjoy them without gaining weight or feeling guilty. (Silly me.) But at times in spite of the gluten thing, I'll still risk one. Thanks for letting me enjoy your high tea vicariously.
