It seems that parts of the USA because of big Pharmacutical Corporation greed, are beginning to appear like 3rd nation places.

Re: Pat,

Also modern hygiene. It is a third-world disease mainly, and that also says something about where America is today.

Re:

The homeless community is where typhus is being seen in higher numbers, which suggests that there might be at least part of a solution in solving that problem. I am happy to see in a number of cities including this one, real efforts are being made to find real solutions, like Tiny House communities with support services in place.

Re: Corbin Dallas,

Talk to the anti-vaxxers about those preventable diseases, and don't blame anything but homelessness and filth for the resurgence of typhus. That's where the numbers are coming from.

When you've got thousands coming across the border with every disease imaginable, it's not hard to wonder why.  Mumps, Measles and Chicken Pox were almost eradicated until now.

I suppose a strain of the disease becomes really active at times. Expensive job when one has to pay .

Typhus used to be a problem in this country - my mother lost her own

father to typhoid fever when she was 11 years old (around 1917) - and she got us kids the shots out of fear of it. I imagine it's not quite so deadly if one has access to modern medicine.
