You're not alone. I'm sure there are a lot of people in your shoes. I had been without work, so I took what many would consider a menial job as a security guard. Though it only paid me minimum wage, it had the advantage of giving me time to write, something which I still do today, now that I'm retired. It provided me time to write a book of fiction, a sci-fi novel at that.
My advice is not to give up hope but look for something that can enhance your talents and skills. This may be the best way for inspiration.
