Yes the fly of course lays eggs and then the maggots eat the carrots, there is a carrot fly resistant one around now,but somehow the flavour is not so good, well I think so.
Glad you liked the Wolfy series. Actually they are oldies, but I wanted a character who was a bit of a go-er.

I never heard of carrot flies - but then my time growing carrots has
been extremely limited (maybe three growing seasons total). Learn something new every day... I think your Wolfy verses could be turned into a very entertaining movie script - laughed out loud at the last line of this one! Thank you.
