I've lost keys so many times on the years. One would think I would've become an expert on not losing them but not so...One cannot wait until those horrible dates end.

There are days I leave my hearing aids in the drawer and just
turn up the volume on the TV, but when I need to be out amongst people they are essential to communication. For one thing having the hearing synapses in the brain go off line shrinks the lines of communication, affects memory, so even though they irritate me at times, I know what's good for my gray matter.

Glad you found your keys. How frustrating to lose them. What an engaging poem! It reads, to me, quite true. I liked it a lot.
