Hope she wasn't being obnoxious on purpose. I don't know which is worse: someone that stupid or someone that obnoxious. Let's hope she just needed a bit of help understanding - words.

Here's the kicker: she's a very right-wing evangelical churchgoer, posts several memes a day on FB about morality, right-to-life, etc, overturning Roe V Wade, etc.

It could be she never thought it through and so missed the obvious. Maybe she has never been a church person, either, and didn't get the reference to a specifically church choir.
But I do appreciate how annoying it is when someone uses you as their brain because they are just too lazy to use their own.

Well I guess it pleases someone else when she picks you as her confident. I would not worry Pat, I do not think she is really looking for advice, more likely comfort.
