It is fine to disagree.  I think you may actually agree with Inayat Khan.  The idea is kinda what you said that we veil the Truth which creates the things you are talking about.  The author was not suggesting that veiling the Truth is good, but rather that it is part of human nature Original sin?)

Sorry, I don't agree with this idea at all.  Truth is extremely interesting, enabling, enlightening. It is the illusions or veils that are uninteresting to me.  Too often, these 'veils' are deceptions and decoys that are placed to lead us AWAY from the truth, prolong our misery, and make us better or more willing victims of evil. 

This brings to mind, at the hour that Jesus died, the veil or curtain of the "Holy of Holies" in the temple was torn and opened.  That is what God thinks of 'veils', in my opinion.
