How fun to read this. That was my life then. But I must add "The Lone Ranger". We had a big console Philco and we would pull up our chairs around it like it was a preacher and we were the congregation. How fun to remember.

I remember my mother calling me Red Rider from a radio show, I believe because I had a red coat, I think. Thank you for such an interesting post. I know we always had music in the house and I was nearly 10 before we got a television set! I think it only got 3 channels...

Somehow the news seems to lack the portrayal of interest, perhaps it was too exciting once. Or we have become immune to most things, which is probably sad, but I suppose it is inevitable, a kind of self preservation, or we would go bonkers.
