We ought to think up some old sayings Pat . I can't think of many at the moment. Only one an old man once said to my Mum wken I was little. 'Hello! are you going out.'
'No,' said Mother. 'Well you be out,'he replied. I suppose amusement was thin on the ground in those days.

That saying makes a lot of sense. It definitely does describe someone quite an uncoordinated moment.
