You gotta eat during Christmas, I say.

Boys are definitely a challenge to buy presents for. My parents were always able to make it work.

I ignore the fads. art materials (washable paints & crayons) and blank

sketch pads. Appropriate for all ages, lets 'em use their imagination. For older kids the TV has been suggesting gift cards they can spend for their tech stuff or clothes. That's what I send the great grandkids, along with crocheted hats & scarves to the ones who live in the north. I'm not decorating either.

you are so kind hearted and buying a gift for an older boy is

Challenging but I know you will find something special. We did decorate this year  but not as much in years past. Last year couldn't decorate at all due to demon cat Jubal.

You are so special--always thinking of and doing for others.
Such a special and loving Season this is.  I have always loved it too.

Kabu

That's a good idea. And you are so right about the older children, especially boys, often getting overlooked by charities and others. Adnohr has it right, I think. Christmas is in one's heart, so you will have a bit of it this year. Hugs to you both with lots of love.

Puzzles, books, art supplies, table games - my Rugrats are all into the expensive tech stuff too, but they will drop everything to do a puzzle or play a game of monopoly.
