You're asking someone who loves reading so much that from the time I was a kid I would read the dictionary, old physics books (which were beyond me) and the classifieds (liked the descriptions of the mansions); whatever was in front of me. lol. I wish I could chose one book, or even one hundred that stand out to me, but I can't. If I do, I'll tell you.

I love books.  I love reading books.  I love this post because it reminds me of so many books I forget about amongst the many.  When I am not on the computer, it is usually because I am reading an interesting book that I cannot put down.

I have stopped buying books...not stopped reading ...I just am loving reading what I know that I love...perhaps it is because now I don't have much time. At the moment I am re-reading "The Winds of War,' by Herman Wouk. Only restarted it but already it is scaring me...too many similarities to today in the USA.

Well we liked Ann of Green Gables when we were kids and Little Women, and JUST William. Forget the Author I quite liked Dickens novels the original ones are harder going.

When in the forces , deprived of inspiration. A favorite was HOT Dames ON Cold Slabs.

I believe it was written b a guy called Hank Jason.

Re: FormerStudentIntern - "A Separate Peace."

I'm not familiar with this author or story, but checked it out online. It sounds like a great read.
