Wheel of Fortune was the favorite for us. Our van had a turn around front passenger seat so I would face them and be the Vanna White of our game. Their other favorite was me reading to them. They loved to hear Louis L'Amour books and imagine the places we were heading or had been.

Pat - A SPECIAL MEANING FOR ME
My mom always sang that song to us. It was her favorite. My daughter didn't know that, and has a plaque above her sink with those words, as she sang that song to her children. It brought back memories. My car was one big French fry when the girls were little.

I was lucky. My two guys would lie down on a pillow each in the back seat and sleep for hours.

Those are some catchy sing-along memories. Now everyone but the driver is on their phones and tablets. Times have changed.

Re: CCT
I can't think of anything more poignant than a soldier stationed far away and listening to "My Home Town." Wow!

Well what was nice was most of the songs made sense or touched a nerve . I remember listening outside a army hut. A radio, a song 'My home town.' We recruits were really moved. Perhaps words do not matter, it is the pounding of ancient drums syndrome.
