LIke Kabu said, it all starts with ignorance. A lot of people fear who and what they do not know.

Social media and cable news is also adding more fuel on the fire of resentment.

Very interesting reading, both the post and the comments.  I don't think I will get into commenting on the questions as I'm kind of under the weather and don't feel like putting out that much effort.  So glad you write about things to make us think.

Re: Re: Corbin Dallas,

Their resentment is their problem....nobody owes anyone anything for events that happened many decades, even centuries ago.  And your premise on the debts is way out in left field. I don't know where you found that.....

If I had a Great-great-great-great grandfather who owned slaves.....Am I responsible to provide to their descendants?  Don't you see how absurd that is?

As for average Americans...we don't live in a "Grey Poupon" world, we're more inclined to "Frenchs".....

Instead of using the past as an excuse for substandard performances, one should look at the mirror and accept their own failure to aspire to success.  It can be applied to entire races...look at the exceptional people black, brown, and yellow that do achieve.

Instead, in our country the Liberal establishment prefer to keep them on the public dole or because of their illegal status, working at substandard wages.....beholding to their patrons, they are required to toe the line at the ballot box as well.

I think the answer begins with Early Childhood Education, both formal and at home. Educators, and parents or the caretakers of children, are those who instill their core values. Young children don't perceive differences in each other's skin color. Even when I was old enough to notice that some people looked different than others, my mother was wise enough to explain to me how and why all people are the same color under their skin. I feel sorrow for atrocities and injustices, but I feel no personal guilt. We need to act, not react. Guilt is a poor compensation for positive and constructive discourse and actions. Until we realize that, moving forward will be slow and arduous, imho.

I am reluctant to join in,  but I guess I will.  We are not legally responsilbe for our deceased parent's debt.  The parent's estate is responsible for the debt.  After the debt is paid, the children get anything that is left over.  If the debt is not fully paid, the children are not responsible.  That is my understanding.  And it does not apply to grandparents, great-grandparents, etc., as the anti-white movement is trying to do.

We are certainly not to be put in jail for our parent's or ancestors' crimes, but that is symbolically what non-whites are trying to do to whites now.  As for guilt, I feel none and have none.  God might hold nations or cultures responsible for the crimes of their forefathers, but I do not, and people should not.

That's a good thing too, because almost all nations and cultures are dripping with blood and horror, if you dig deep enough into their history.  The blacks in Africa captured and sold each other into slavery, to the Muslim slave traders before Westerners showed up.  The Muslims of course slaughtered millions in their Jihads (and are still doing it).  The Native Americans raided each other, tortured each other, killed each other, and took captives.  Most or all of the Central / South American cultures practiced human sacrifice.  Have you seen the horrific movie "Apocalypto"? I am not sure how accurate it was in its details, but the basic premise of massive human enslavement and sacrifice is sound.  Here is a link to a Wikipedia article about some of the history.....   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_sacrifice_in_Aztec_culture

There was a recent discovery in the news, in Peru, I think, of a site where dozens of children were slaughtered as human sacrifice.

I could hold a grudge against Latinos for this horrible widespread heritage of theirs, but I do not.

Re: Kabu,

Exactly why I believe that the solutions to these social issues lie in education--and travel is an excellent educator!

Re: Corbin Dallas,

And how do you feel about someone else holding you responsible, someone whose  resentment is aimed at you despite your denial of complicity in the causes of their anger? Do you understand why they would think that? How about the notion that legatees are legally responsible for the debts of their deceased parents?

I am not responsible for anything that happened in the past.  Or for anything anyone else does. Why would you think that.
