It is appalling how little people seem to know anymore of such global events as WWII, even in general terms, that had so much to do with shaping the present world. The educational system in the US is failing to teach so many significant things!

Well Ciel I think a lot of time is spent in the present  these days or the immediate future.

If I ask any of my younger relatives about any certain family member they hardly know to whom I refer.

Well I suppose once histories were related as part of conversation. When I was young we spent many hours sitting in front of the fire, perhaps playing cards or just talking. The older folk telling yarns etc.

it is a wonder why the young do not want to hear old stories, perhaps it is because they were not taught to relate.  seems the young are very self centered these days.

There are a few wise among the young who know to treasure the experiences of their gammers and gaffers. I know I like having the connection with the past that I get from your reminiscings, and others here in Blogitland.
