I love the direction in which you have taken the group. It's a delight, and I do see from where your poem originated. In fact, I was thinking that as I read the post. Lovely. Thank you. More people in charge of writing groups should avoid the critique and listen, as you have pointed out so nicely. Clean-up (editing) can come later...

Re: TAPS

I believe that's exactly how this group began - before I even began at The Center. Many of those who socialize there are retired educators and realized the importance of writing the good old days for the young to read.

Re: Ciel

The thing is, they healed me. I get so much more out of these classes than I put into them... Thanks for your lovely observation.

What a catalyst and healer you have become, through hosting this opportunity which has turned out to be about so much more than writing!

Years ago I got caught up in a little group of old ladies who quilted once a week in the church basement.  They were my mother's age and some of them her friends.  They took me in as one of them even though I wasn't much of a sewer.  I loved to listen to them talk.  I wish someone would have written their stories.

Hmmm....That is totally different from how I pictured it.    Thanks for explaining the process.
