For some reason this made me want to laugh. I was picturing when I was a Campfire Girl at the big Jamboree at Municipal Auditorium Arena and picturing the recipients of the condoms blowing them up for balloons because in 1947 - 1950 we'd never heard of such a thing and would have had no idea what else they might have been for.
