Comparing apples and oranges?

It should be remembered at this point,  that Michael Flynn was accused by the left of violating the Logan Act for speaking with Russian officials as Donald Trump transitioned into office. But the left is silent now…

As I written before in other posts, there is nothing unusual about transition team members talking with the heads of foreign nations but there is something very unusual about a former Secretary of State working behind the scenes to undermine the current President and his foreign policy.

It should also be remembered, which I forgot to mention in my first post on this issue, that John Kerry might have a vested interest in keeping the Iran nuclear deal in place because his son-in-law is Iranian and the best man at his daughter’s wedding was Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.  Just a coincidence......

Well.....

Not even close......

Kerry is applying pressure on his own country on behalf of foreign nations including Iran, which has in effect been at war with the USA since 1979.

“It is unusual for a former secretary of state to engage in foreign policy like this, as an actual diplomat and quasi-negotiator,” said Michael O’Hanlon, a foreign policy expert at the Brookings Institution.

One reason it is unusual is that it is in extremely bad form. Your side lost, Hanoi John. Get over it.

Another reason is that it Is very likely that what he is doing is illegal according to the Logan Act, which forbids private citizens from negotiating as if they represent the U.S. government when they don’t.

But no big deal.......Kerry has arguably violated the Logan Act before, while canoodling with Vietnamese communists in 1970.

He did it again recently, conspiring with Palestinian authorities against the current American administration. Neither time did he suffer any repercussions. He knows he will get away with it this time too. That’s why he’s so arrogant.

It seems to me that DJT and/or his agents, who were not at the time

officials of the American government, are being charged with talking/negotiating with the Russians and others - plenty of Logan Act to go around, it seems to me.
