may to oct is our hurricane season and we also get tornadoes. i always heard jump into the bathtub and hold on for a tornado. be mighty tight with two large dogs.

I can't imagine living with the fear that a tornado can come at any time. We have had a few in Maryland, but thankfully, none near me.

It's hard to sleep here of a summer night when tornadoes are in the realm of probablilty. We have discussed where in the house we would be most safe as there is no basement, and there are no rooms without windows. But the downstairs is partly underground, and that helps.

I'm a bit of a prepper...I have one of the containers you see on the ships and railroad cars....they had an auction and It wasn't a bad price. It's buried, 2 entrances. underground diesel tank , separate underground generator with noise suppression...and a bunch of other stuff.......

I just keep thinking of Dorothy in Wizard of Oz. I wouldn't trust those little boxes of people holders either. Hope the season is mild for you.

It seems these days we need to build smaller houses and
bigger underground bunkers - as CCT suggests, with a flush toilet. If I were going for the deluxe version, there'd be food, water and possibly a generator, in case the situation lasts longer than a few hours.

I think I'll go for the big one. No Taps I would have moved oinks ago if I could have afforded to, but I know it might never happen. Does the box have a flushed toilet?
