Yes, he must have been hungry. Imagine not feeling a sting after swallowing 4 bees? Yikes. I noticed lots of. Res this year already. More than ever, it seems.

I don't think it would have swallowed another if it had been stung. I did see a Robin swallow a small frog, it was quite a feat. your sweet peas were probably everlasting they do come up each year. Quite hardy but I don't think there are any different colours from the ones you have shown

We always had them on our sweetpeas where we raised our sons. I've never see sweetpeas growing on the fence here.

We have thousands of those bumblebees going after the close to the ground purple flowers... are they purple crocuses? I have to be careful when on my big mower to not get the bees stirred up.....
