This is new to me. Does that mean if one believes one has no soul, there is no need to repent, and because that being has no soul in his/her/its belief, therefore a soul disappears. Or is it that a soul never was? But if one believes one has a soul, then it exists. Hmm?
I don't see how something, such as a soul, can exist, and simply disappear. Either it is, or it isn't, or what? It disappears? Too difficult for my simple mind to grasp. I guess if one believes a tree falling in the forest makes a noise, then it does, but if one doesn't believe the fallen tree makes a noise, or fails to hear it, then it does not.

I believe in the traditional church teaching. That includes purgatory as well.
