This cultural attitude about women is so old, so pervasive--Women have created so many defenses to fend off and cope with that are just as pervasive and ancient... All our society seems built around it, it is hard to imagine how humanity will ever clear it away! How many generations will it take? I think we are in the turning tide now, and the resistance to change and the inevitablility of it creates such confusion and turmoil!
But the tide will change, even if we are not here to see it.
In any case, I will see the future in as far as I can in an array of fine hats, and a lovely soft and colorful scarf that the mailman left today! Thankee kindly indeed!
