the farm part and animals would have suited me as a child, but the religious part would have made me run away.

It must have been a bit of a culture shock for all of you kids. But not all bad. I think there were a lot of the "church lady" types then. But now I wonder, what did you say that was not "table talk?" We had that rule in our house about some things not being appropriate for discussion at the table.

There is a whole lot of work to be done on the farm. Farmers really do earn their keep for all of the work that they do.

Brings back a lot of memories of the farm life....I moved from Louisville to the country after finishing the first grade at a big city school (4 stories) My school in ELk Creek was 2 large rooms and six grades...2 teachers, 3 grades apiece. I was shocked when introduced to two things...the Dairy barnand the outhouse.
