We are always told it's more important to make a nice noise than a loud one - which I guess means it's ok to mime occasionally:)

what a bittersweet memory. It's a shame that they didn't deposit the checks directly into the bank. Many senior citizens suffered such as he did.

taps, loved this post, lol, smiling, both me and my husband were asked to not sing outloud but to just mouth the words, we would try to outsing each other and can remember bringing laughter to others around us, including mine, but my husband thought we sounded good.

Well I was always told to just mime the words. Only those on high heard my celestial calling.

That is so sad about the elderly an in your church.....why must people be so cruel? And singing in your head and heart....that is truly what is important. Loved your post!

You still have a song in your soul, and we're lucky enough to have sung in the choir. That is wonderful.

"The song is ended, but the melody lingers on,".
This lyric came to mind as I read your post - some old love song from way back when, I think. It ticks me off that someone attacked your senior choir singer even though it happened probably 50 years ago. I'm glad you've got the songs and the melodies and the joy they bring, even if your voice isn't in top shape.
