Many are caught by surprise how little time they have when they are retired.

Rosemary, parsley, thyme, mint, basil, oregano, and my favorite, marjoram, when I can get it. Those are the most common ones. You are right to chew rosemary; it has an analgesic property, like aspirin, I read, so it may ease inflammatory pain.? Never tried it...

Yes, do get someone to help you in a your yard. My brother has a acre and loves it, but it is a job to take care of. In this area, an acre is a lot of had space.

Oh! what herbs do you grow, I have just bought two small Rosemary bushes, the roots were very tight in the pots so I teased them out. I like to nip a bit of occasionally and chew it.

Well I must admit when I downgraded to half an acre I thought what a miserly bit of ground to look after. Of course it now seems to grow larger each year Archie who helps as he has the flowers for his Charity stall said 'I pulled up two hundred canes supporting the dahlias. Last year I was up a 5am watering, I am thinking of passing that chore onto a younger guy. Thank you for reminding me to take it easier .

Re: Aba bro
I find it very soothing to water the plants. My whole family seems to be like that. I have an herb garden and flower garden but can't water the entire yard, so sprinklers do that, though I think I'll get out in the yard more.

Re: TAPS
There is a school of thought that says not to buy a place years in advance of retirement for that purpose; things may change in the interim. And you are living where you like it. Time does disappear, so we may live in each moment as it comes, but your memory is quite sharp from the way you write.

We have a nice garden and I just love watering each plant and tree. It's like another world for me then, call it even deeply meditative, sis Presta

I don't know what I thought retirement would be for me. I never intended to move somewhere to retire, I like it here, but I did some traveling at first. Actually, I don't know where my thirteen years (so far) of retirement has gone to. It has just disappeared and taken my memory along with it.
