Since my rent went up by $150, I am making sure the landlord is aware of everything that needs attention! He shows up right away to deal with them, too. But when he's here, I also feel the intrusion.

Poor Ribcage , a man likes his own den to be sacred. It would be truly good if your son could give up the tobacco. For his heath's sake , but it will be a tough one to follow.
I remember one chap on here used to chew a horrible lozenge with nicotine in them. Not good for the tummy I would suggest.

I sympathize with both of you. It is stressful and unsettling to have people in your residence working on things. Makes me cringe. It will be better afterwards. I almost thought you would move! Hopefully, Ribcage feels better about it, and they do their work and leave quickly.

I know the idea of giving up his comfort smoke is making your
hibernating bear a bit testy. It's always disturbing when rehabbing or decorating is being done while we're in-house.

when it is over it will be so much nicer...well maybe not Ribcage's room. Tell him Auntie Kabu says it will be alright. it won't take the rest of his life for the renovations to continue. At least along with putting up the rent they do do some repairs.
