Go to Life in the fast lane--where's the on ramp?Add a commentGo to ON TARGET

Back in my heyday we got morning paper and evening paper and a grand one on Sunday.  They were delivered by pickup trucks and paper rolling and throwing boys that tied each one and gave it a mighty toss as the truck rolled along.  If the paper didn't make it to the yardm the truck would stop long enough for the truck to stop and the boy retrieve the paper and throw it into the yard.  The delivery was included in the cost of the paper.  Now we only get the Sunday paper and we make a trip to Quick Trip to get it.

Pat - what a shame...

Oh, this is sad to hear about the man at Target. It seems that advanced medical tech, such as robotics, genetics, etc., is going to be one of the fields that booms, at least that's what my daughter says the high schools are thinking when assessing children for which track they should consider.

Only one small trade appears to be booming, body care and haircutting. I suppose alde folk cut each others toenails. I remember seeing an oldish lady her toenails were curled under her toes she could hardly walk and yet she had two middle aged sons living with her.

Who ever thought that Clark Kent would ever become obsolete. The World changed as quickly as it must have changed when the Industrail Revolution took the work away from the cottages industry and people moved to cities to work in the factories.

Now I am wondering just how much longer people will be walking the Malls. Although I do say that online shopping can be really good and really not good.

It all seemed to happen so quickly, too. I'm amazed by the rate of change that has occurred during my lifetime thanks to technology.
