I took some Spanish. I know the basics, but, I'd like to become fluent in it. I'm also interested in French, Italian, German, Russian, Chinese & Japanese. Where was your grandma originally from?

This makes me think of all of the Bible Societies that produce Bibles for people of undeveloped languages.  So many times, before they could begin translations for languages, they have first had to make an alphabet for them and teach them to read.

I studied spanish and french. I started learning italian but missed too many classes. I hope to learn arabic in honor of my grandmother. 

Yes languages should be preserved with today's technology it should be easy.
